Yes, there are MECCG events being run at Gencon this year...just not Nats.  We're doing a fallen-wizard sealed, a Doors of Night tournament, a challenge deck tournament and Joe Bisz' multiplayer boxed game.  Send me a PM if you need more info on any of the events.

Will we need to register for this event ahead of time, or is it possible to show up with general tickets in hand at 2:00? I know I'm replying after the fact, but I wanted to post here just for future reference.  For any MECCG events I run at Gencon, generic tickets are fine.  I handle it ...

Because of how Gencon handles ticketing, you won't be able to use your own product.  I can't, say, charge one price for folks with product, and a different price for those without it.   As far as sites, the way I usually run it is sealed deck: full site deck booster draft: you draft your s...

Most tournaments will be 2-deck games, which is why the minimum is 30/30 with 12 creatures.

Sealed deck is usually only a 1-deck game, which is why you can do a 25/25 with 10 creatures.

Since I use my cards mainly for deck-building instead of collecting, I have mine sorted by type.  So in my resource binder, I have Allys, then Factions, then Items (Minor first, then Major, then Greater, etc.).  The short events are grouped together, long events, then perms.  Also the...

CoE Candidacy; 2008 - 2009

The CoE holds annual elections in March, so we're late on it this year but doing it now.  We want to invite all members of the community to consider candidacy for the CoE. As a member of the 9-person council, you will have the responsibility to: (1) Represent the interests of players like you (...

If you win all 5 rolls, it should say you must give your dice to your opponent for the rest of the game.  Those are some lucky dice!

For me personally, I spend a lot of the extra time with a few of the other gaming hobbies/addictions I have.  Boardgaming has gotten better at Gencon (still not as good as it is at Origens, but oh well), and it's very easy to kill a good half-day in the dealer room.  Then I'll probably jum...

Andrew!  Long time, no see.  Excellent work on those 3d cards too.  Those look amazing.  I'd never thought to do that with MECCG cards, but it's a great use for the gobs of extra commons I have laying around.  I may have to give it a try.
