Nice,
could get rather nasty with Chill them in play :)

How about adding:

"May not be played against a company containing an elf"

The 2 strategy guides - doubt it - ICE would have had those, but they lost the licence and Tolkien Estates took/destroyed everything Middle Earth related (IIRC). There are unofficial player written guides around (I've written one for AtS and the WH). Mine are buried in the Guild Companion archives (...

Yep, ICE printed a little set of MECCG Maps - one bigger 'poster' size map and another smaller map 3 ring punched so it would fit in a binder. One of the maps had site icons on it - I think, it's been a while since I looked at them. ICE also used to distribute (for free) glossy colour maps for playe...

My personal favourite is draft - which is a variation on sealed luck (I mean sealed deck). Usually people play booster draft - but starter deck draft is good too.

As these are not the same as sealed deck my vote goes with scenario/other.

And obviously you cannot share them with us because even tho the dwarf is dead he still has honour   Copyright is copyright. I don't hold the copyright for either the unpublished works I have 'draft' copies of (Dragons and 'Sauron' - I don't think ICE had settled on a final title), so no ...

Also 2 MERP (Middle Earth Role Playing Game) 'Realm' books had MECCG cards and scenarios in them (you had to cut out the cards and they were only printed in Black & White IIRC) Hands of the Healer The Northern Wastes There were also other books part done that ICE never published :( Against the Shado...

My vote goes for the Dragons. In my opinion it was the best expansion - a little overprinted, but the best. It added a few things to the game (ahunts, etc) but not a huge influx of new rules, and the art was (mostly) top notch. And also a few hosers to stop dominant strategies (i.e. coastal) It also...

There is another book around called Mastering Middle Earth which is not bad. Hey, I thought I had all the books. I have never heard of this one. Can anybody tell me where I can get a copy ?? This wasn't an ICE produced book, but by Wordware Publishing, Inc ISBN is 1556225598 You can look it up on B...

(when we tried a tournament based on scenarios in the UK we had a list of restricted hazards you couldn't use, guess which ones  ) The Great Goblin? Nope, according to CoL rules the 'official scenarios' were: # A Hobbit's Quest (found on page 72 of the Middle-earth: The Wizards Companion) # B...

I agree with Wim - casual companion is for players who have collected a ton of cards but don't want to play 'competitively' in tournaments (so casual means non-tournament) rather than, hey I've just bought 2 starters and I'm not sure what to do next. For newbies, better to get some challenge decks (...

If one were to revert back to the pre-minimum creature requirement period for a hazard deck, one might then see competitive hazard decks more able to handle a squatting opponent.  This might in effect shift the balance back towards those that actually decide to move. As far as I recall, the cr...

I'm not sure which 'idea' Mark is rating me on  :?  Maybe they all suck?   My main suggestion was a tournament format we actually played in the UK (once) it was okay: You build a deck, you hand it in, you play a different deck for the tournament. End of the tournament there are *...

When I may discard (i.e. when there is no stuff on-guard), I discard 100% of the time. It is just necessary! And favor is a piece of crap. Sorry, but it looks to be only good for recycling hazards, and I never trust my hazards to truly stop my opponent. I rather go quickly through my deck and then ...

Peter, I'd actually argue that the majority of the challenge decks are fairly poor and wouldn't compete too well with a solid constructed deck. Some of the challenge decks aren't great - some are helped if you add additional sites. Saying that, Alatar's is pretty darn solid. I've beaten 'constructe...
