I think what Dyami is looking for is a list of which cards require 1 copy only (sites except havens, regions (in most cases this could probably have count required=0 ;-)), characters, and uniques), and which require 3 copies (probably all others).  I'm sure it's not as simple as I've laid out, ...

Hmmm.  I guess there are exceptions to every rule... Mod edit: no thanks Lucky, lucky find. Edit: -------- Since ebay auctions go away rather quickly, the summary here is that someone picked up:        * Box 1 of 2 The Shadow Deeps (sealed)    * Box 1 of 2 The Shad...

Opening boosters can be fun, but eventually the fun goes out of it, trust me. I'm up over 40 a-piece on a lot of METW commons when I open packs, and it's a bit depressing over time.  I'm ready to just start buying in bulk for some of the other expansions... I'm not sure I could "face" that kind...

Furthermore, I'd doubt that sealed matters that much.  They're simply that sought after... Also, Bob, I admire your integrity.  I specifically stayed away from making an offer on them because I figured you'd go that way.  It's encouraging to see people will still stick to agreements i...

The "going" price lately in the U.S. has been $137.50 PER deck.  This started with an auction by J.T. Kaufmann simply offering up a pair that he picked up for $10 a piece at a recent GENCON (he's a personal friend of mine, that's why I know the details).  He'd made a deal with me that he'd...

Personally, I use a database that I designed.  Of course, it's far "overdone" for simple collection tracking, and doesn't do ANY deck building functions.  It's an excellent card resource, however (Wim has a copy for eventual connection to this web site); I simply added an extra table calle...

Well, it's all relative, of course.

Compared to how things have been ($137.50 for EACH part of Balrog), I feel that things got (a little) closer to "sane"...

ebay coming off really lucky lately?

Is it just me?  It must be just me (and some really good luck)... I've had some really good ebay buys lately. I'm the proud owner of Monte Cook's MeTW starter deck (I had him sign it for me, for extra geek points). I bought a display of limited boosters, which I've yet to start opening (the fir...

I downloaded the maps you linked and they really look nice. As for making a vector map for MECCG, that could be made in a simple way: the region borders could be reproduced from any one .jpg map with the properly accurate working on the nodes, in order to reproduce the borders lines curves. Then su...

New Starting Point?

I ran across this site, almost by accident this morning: http://www.lords-of-blah.nl/mearth/mearthmap.html While I really appreciate the work Patrick put into the earlier map (it's gorgeous), this might be a very good starting point for a new play map (see the link for the color version!).  It ...

Cool early game design trivia

I just recently acquired an early "sell sheet" for METW; and there are a lot of cool differences here between the early design for some cards (represented on this sheet), and what eventually came out.   For example: * Gandalf's early Card Text (known as Special Abilities back then): ---- Servan...

... a bit of an odd exchange, since what you describe as the "Beginner Set" is most definitely the Starter Set (in the U.S., in English).  Was a version released in Europe where the translation back to English may have been "Beginner Set"?

Nope. As Nigel posted a bit higher up in this topic: MEAS and MEWH guides were planned but never printed. Same for the Long Expected Party like sets on dragons and mordor. Just for posterity, I wanted to fill in a bit more detail on these "lost" Long-Expected-Party-like sets that were never release...
