I'm not sure what you're getting at when you say 'recreating' starter decks.  You mean make new ones (i.e. print new cards?), or do you mean put together fixed packs to use with sealed boosters?  As far as the first, that's not legal so it's far out of the question.  The second one, w...

Challenge decks have cards from all sets, so I think you're out of luck there.  Making a deck with just cards from the Wizards set shouldn't be too hard, but you will be missing a few key cards from later sets.  I would recommend trying to pick up a booster box of The Dragons set (very che...

Yeah, note what Adrian said: a whole box of The Dragons is only worth $20, so don't trade too much for it. I attended Gencon two weeks ago and bought a box of Dragons for $10 (yeah, it's dragons, and I already have a lot of it...but it was only $10). You also have to decide what direction you want t...

Personally, I prefer the unabridged reading of the book to any of the dramatizations.  But if I had to choose, I've heard good things about the BBC one.

Quick Tournament Report

I'm just writing a quick tournament report, half-way through Gencon Indianapolis 2007.  Yesterday (Thursday), we had a challenge deck tournament.  Joe Bisz ended up winning that, with Josh Hunholz (me) in second, Krista Donelly in third and Chad Martin in fourth.  I think that's right...

TE speaks one language: $$$.  Remember, this isn't the heirs of Tolkien we're talking about; this is an investment company that is interested only in what makes them more wealthy.  To purchase licenses, game companies pay large sums of money, and they would expect the same from us.  I...

Agreed. Which rules are the "best" is always in the opinion of the reader.  Some may like one format, others may prefer another.  It's good to know that rules are available in different places though, so thank you all for the different links and attachments. :)

Sort out your cards by type (ally, faction, items, etc.) and by general location on the map that they're playable at.  If you have a certain theme you want to try, start building aroud that.  Otherwise pick an area where you have quite a bit playable and go from there.  You will want ...

Both that site and this site are moving to a new server.  That is probably why you would be seeing some downtime today.  Last week, we had a strange DNS issue, but I think that has been worked out now as well.

Server Move

Meccg.net will be moving to a new server later today.  The site will be back up very quickly, but there may be some lingering DNS issues for a day or so.  Please bear with us during the move. Thanks!

The way I've always done it is just like a regular game, except the third player has a turn in there.  As Wim mentioned above, you would play hazards on the player to your right or left (you choose a direction and it stays that way all game), so on a person's turn, 2 people will be involved and...
