IMHO 'not failinf a cc' is not the same as 'passing a cc' or even 'making a successful cc' (as required by Cracks of Doom)

The MEBA rules state three older cards as being spawn:
Shelob, Spider of Môrlat, and Balrog of Moria are Spawn.
CoE rulings digest #49 (march 10, 2003):
--------
Is the Balrog avatar card considered Spawn?

*** No.

Both can be found at http://www.meccg.net/netherlands/meccg/rules.html

A permanent-event played on a site affects only the copy of the site it is played on, unless otherwise specified. A permanent-event not played on a site affects all versions of affected sites. This one falls into the first category: it is played on a site and does not specify otherwise, so it only h...

No, because Rumours of Rings allows you to play the reserved ring, which is not the same as discarding it.

I have to agree with Jamie on this, the card is for use with Aragorn going from Dunharrow to the Vale of Erech. The rest would appear to me as trying to use loop holes due to the wording. Yes it is using loopholes, but loopholes do get used, so its good to discuss them, as some people will try to b...

I agree, that this card is rather useless for anything else than playing 'Army of the Dead'. (Which is as it should be) But If played when Aragorn II is not at Dunharrow, it still has an effect, namely making movement from Dunharrow to Vale of Erech Possible. Later in the turn this could happen (mov...

Let's see if I can sum up what I think is possible with this card. It is playable at the end of any of the player's organization phases, regardless of him having Aragorn II in the company or what site any of his companies are at. There are only a few cases in which the card has any effect though: Wh...

If a read carefully there is only 3 requirements *playable at end of organization phase *company with Aragorn *start a Dunharrow I think you hit the nail on the head. It could be used as a (pseudo)-stealth card. When moving from Dunharrow with Aragorn II a company may only face undead, no matter th...

I expect a scene to be added where Gimli teaches a drinking game to Legolas. This would happen during the celebrations of Rohan's victory over the forces of Saruman.

A casual player, although I must admit playing online restricts my style quite a bit - my fingers just don't work fast enough for decent storytelling using a keyboard. In other on-line gaming I often use http://www.teamspeak.org/ , which offers very usable voice over IP. This or any other voicechat...

To add something "meaningful" Balrog character ability does have some small counters, such as influence and DI destruction....It's not totally uncounterable. All benefits of the Balrog are counterable. That is not the issue. The issue is that because of a little too many benefits the Balrog is slig...

Re: Casual Play

I think sitting around in the same place boring enough for real life :) When playing ME:CCG I'd like at least 1 of my companies going places. I try to build my deck around (what I think are) fun things, eg. 'quest-cards', themes, underused cards, things I haven't tried before. This way when I run in...

The line about the hazard creatures comes after the line about the sites one moves between. I think that means it only works if you actually satisfy those conditions. As the card is not played 'on' a company the only thing 'this company' can refer to is 'a company that starts at the Dunharrow site....
