That's right.

So far voting has gone like this:

YES = 5 (Sly Southerner, pferris, Jambo, Vastor Peredhil, Bandobras Took)
NO = 1 (Moria tour guide)

Still two more days until the voting ends so hurry up everyone !

Well, acording to the UEP rules, this proposal in now accepted, with a votation that goes like this:

YES = 5 (Sly Southerner, pferris, Jambo, Vastor Peredhil, Bandobras Took)
NO = 1 (Moria tour guide)

That's 83% in favour.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to read and vote.

bit harsh then to vote no now that it's just been accepted, isn't it? A voting period of two weeks is a bit short imho, though I agree I've been absent from this forum quite a bit longer....

just adding to the discussion then: isn't it a bit weird that a character with Last Child can get attacked over and over again by Shelob and then have her as an ally at his side after the attack? that's what's going to happen since the company can't leave minas morgul area because of the ally, and Shelob can attack only there. If you are a clever opponent, you cycle Shelob as fast as you can.
I mean, the general idea is that when you enlist an ally it is favourable to you. To have an ally attack a company/controlling character there are cards for that [stay her appetite, designed to represent shelob's urges in fact].

So in order to accept this UEP I'd say it needs a "any strike by manifestation of Shelob against it's controlling character is cancelled" clause. you could extend it to the whole company, but I agree that Shelob is a difficult ally to control so it might turn on others....

then there is another problem. What if YOU play Shelob as a perm. just to be able to move outside of the region, and diss it when you're ready to return to the Morgul Vale? is that a fair trick?

Well, I think this trick could have some downfalls, since your opponent could remove the permanent with Voices of Malica or Marvels Told, and if you were somewhere other than in Mordor, then your ally would be discarded.

I think those tricks are fine myself.

Just a point of order on this UEP though. Some of the votes were made before the UEP was changed. Ideally those people should have the chance to vote again and the voting period should be extended after the UEP was edited. Generally we have had 4 weeks for voting to be more inclusive also. Not sure what to do about it at this late stage though.

I'm sorry, you are right about some poeple voting before the changes were made.

So, I'm extending the voting period 2 more week then.

Sorry.

Given that passed UEPs are added to the accepted list at quarterly intervals, the last one being the end of Dec, then it's maybe worthwhile extending the voting period to when the accepted UEP list is next updated?

This will also give those less regular visitors to the site a greater chance to vote.

Ok, that sounds about right. When is the next update to the list ??, I'll extend the voting period until that date.

As they go by year quarters, the next would be end of April 2006. :)

Hello.

Well, I understand what Uvatha the DM wants. It´s really sad that this ally has such a shit?=$) ability if you might call this an ability (returning to owner´s hand). Something needs to be proposed to change this. But leaving her off to the side? I just don´t agree with this. Mainly because it would be too rare, that the character controlling her has her, then she goes off to the side, and then returns to the character when Shelob leaves play. And how would this work? if the character moves, does Shelob go back to him, no matter where he is?
