about playing characters

Post by sarma72 » Wed Sep 05, 2007 8:59 am

Sometime teaching this game can help you understand which rules really seems to introduce unnecessary complications. My friend was puzzled in particular about how to play characters.

Would it really break the game balance if one could play any number of charcters during the organization phase, as long as one has sufficient GI or DI to control them?

Would it really break the game balance if you could keep bringing in charcters in the usual way even after the Wizard comes in play, i.e. not only necessarly where he is that turn?

Also, how about going to a site to play a character during the site phase, in the same way we play allies, factions or items, that is by tapping the site and bringing a minor item as well?

What do you think?

I.C.E. were indeed thinking that the current rule for bringing characters into play is a bit complicated, I guess. At least they were planning some changes for the LORE rules (more details here.):
Character MPs are ignored (except for negative MPs). You may bring a character into play at a Haven or his home site, regardless of the position of your Wizard. To bring a character into play, you must have enough influence available to control the character.

This one seemed like a good idea to me when I first started playing. Basically iproves card management by saving hanging on to a player for another turn.
So that's where that southerner is hiding...He looks more than half like a goblin.
