[Poll ] [UEP, Proposed] RW at home sites rules!
This is my second UEP, which I came up with while creating a ringwraith DCCD for LURE VIII.
I created my deck without this rule and it sucked, with this rule (sorry for the bad pun) it ruled!
As I am getting the DCCD more and more in line with FATE, new mechanisms most be found for minions to cope with the quickness of hero and fallen aligments (also not all fallens are fast)
Name: RW at home sites rule, well the title was not long enough to let me introduce what I wanted to tell you guys here.
Actually all cards that can be played by/or on a Ringwraith at a Darkhaven may also be played by/or on a Ringwraith at any one of his home sites.
Status: Proposed
Proposal maintainer: Nicolai Willinek
Categories: Balance/Improvement of Ringwraith strategies
Errata: Again, none that I could think of
Problem: As with my other new UEP, Ringwraith cannot do a lot at their home sites, even though it would be thematic to do so.
Solution: Allow cards like; Bade to Rule, Black Horse, Black Rider, By the Ringwraith's Words, Fell Rider, Heralded Mode, etc. ... to be played on/by a Ringwraith if he is present at any of his home sites.
Pros: This might allow for some new at thematic strategies/decks
Cons: Might be to good, but still I believe that RW aligment is the weakest (maybe besides avatarless)
Rationale: Well for me, it is not only rationale but logical!!!
It would definitly help any RW on it's quickness
Discussion: Again I haven't come up with a killer/deck/combo (a least not without dreamcards)

Well I vote yes, because I like it thematically and I can't forsee any real problems with it. Then again, I'm one of the more generous UEP fans when it comes to allowing thematic stuff.
So, perhaps you can give us an example of how/where a ringwraith would really benefit from this, and if this is actually desirable? Because playing him (or her) at his homesite is usually only done if you want to take advantage of the site itself, which means staying there, so why do I need a mode card other than Heralded Lord, which could be rather good? If you want an actively moving ringwraith, first place I have to go to is a haven anyway.
Bade to rule/while yellow face sleeps are good advantages though, some people might say too good, especially in conjunction with your other UEP (allowing special abilities at home site). With this UEP a normally competitive deck can become even better, because you can use your ringwraith to fill in necessary holes in faction/ally mp's. But the ringwraith still stays stationary meanwhile, is that what we want? Can you explain why you feel they're not too good in fact?
Person(s) voting no, also please explain why you vote no, I'm curious

I voted no, because I find it too strong, because some decks rely on a RW somewhere else. I find a Ren at Barad Dur with Bade and Yellow Face, while also scoring an ally and an item for free rather good. It totally nullifies the idea of choosing between using the RW or using the darkhaven advantages.

Hi Bert,
well you forgot to mention the several factions which he could possible score there
Still in comparison to the Pallando & Cirdan combo at Grey Havens scoring a 2 point faction while holding 2 additional cards (evne though there is a discussion about at the time) is far superior to the new Ren at Barad-dûr situation.
Another problem could be the Witchking (or Indur) at Shelob's Lair, but there is only an ally and some major items to score

Hi Kees,
I do not get what you are trying to say?
Are you refering to this:
I do not get what you are trying to say?
Are you refering to this:
or something else?Altered conditions for discarding the Black Rider and Fell Rider Ringwraith mode cards

well that's what this UEP is for
Anyway, fell rider Witch-king would still need like a 7 or so to get through the auto at Shelob's lair untapped. Or he needs Sojourn (if there is agreement on that card). Anyway, lot of trouble to rescue some snaga-hai from the webs of Shelob. Ren has it easier then

Well I checked on most other UEPs and normally we have 16 or more votes, so these 2 UEPs of mine can still de undone before to long, we are about haftime for these UEPs so I am just wondering, if some people are still undecided or just haven't been here for a while.
@ Eric, wel Indur would have a easier time with Sojourns in Shadows, but still nothing close the the Killer 5 MP combo with ren at Barad-dûr
(Uruk-hai, Creature of an Older World, Helm of Fear is the best it gets!)
doesn't seem too powerful to me
