Wizard Hazard Permanent Tapping for SB, etc

Post by rezwits » Sun Aug 26, 2012 7:55 pm

I have a house rule that I feel is just the same as another rule but for some reason not mentioned.  I feel that if you play a Wizard (Maia) Hazard Creature or Permanent Event from MEAS, or even Durin's Bane, MEDM Creature, or The Balrog, METW Permanent Event, you can tap them like a Nazgul Permanent Event and get sideboard card(s).  I also allow tapping the Balrog Avatar, MEBA, for the same effect as tapping a Wizard or Ringwraith Avatar.

Just a simple rule that I feel makes sense and adds symmetry.

Thanks for reading...

good thinking rezwits! We use the same rule in the Dream-card format. We allow tapping hazard-perms which are manifestation of a Wizard or an Elf-lord to access the sideboard, as if a Nazgul. We have added a hazard manifestation of Thranduil to the game in Middle-earth: The Firstborn, but unfortunately Cirdan (Lord of the Havens) is not a permanent event, or the total nr. of Wizards/Elf-lords would be 9, the same as the Nazgul!

Adding Balrog of Moria to the list might work indeed, but the pity is that if you smell a company coming to kill Balrog of Moria, you could just discard it (like with Daelomin at Home).

btw, The Balrog is considered a Ringwraith (and avatar), so he can tap to access the sb by virtue of standard rules.

Why not making Lord of the Haven a permanent event for DC?

No discarding the Balrog.
