April-May GCCG Tourney (final scores)

Post by Zarathustra » Sun Apr 16, 2006 5:34 am

Looks like we're going to do a challenge deck tourney for the next event on GCCG.  Please sign up on this thread or PM or email me if you'd like to participate.  The format will be as follows:

 You will be assigned a challenge deck and opponent for the first round.  The new 4 decks will be used as well.  DO NOT ALTER THE DECK IN ANY WAY.
 Standard two-deck rules apply: you may call the council (and give your opponent the final turn) if you have 25 MP and have exhausted your deck.  The game is automatically over at the end of the current turn if both players have exhausted their decks twice.  Sudden Call may be played as a hazard.
 You get 1 week to play your game.  After the game, report the MP score to me, and I will use it to assign opponents for the next round.
 In each round after the first, you will play the deck that your opponent from the previous round played.  For example, if you play Uvatha vs. your opponent's Gandalf in round 1, then in round 2 you will play Gandalf vs. your new opponent and your first opponent will play Uvatha vs. his new opponent.
 There will be 4 rounds.
 The winner will receive as a prize 3 French LE rares.

The challenge decks were designed for the standard two-deck game. They are less suited to a one deck environment. Theme and, more problematically, the relative balance of the decks will suffer.

In French LE all cards are fixed (and almost all as F1?). I presume you mean three French LE cards that are rare in sister editions (English / German / Spanish).

@Gwaihir: Really? Two-deck?  I've always played them as 1-deckers as far as I can remember... ok, two deck then!  re: rares -- right, they are fixed for french; I just think of them as rares because I'm used to the english set.
