Lure of MECCG VIII

Post by thorondor » Thu Nov 29, 2007 9:22 pm

it´s that time of the year again. those of us who have been lured in the past, feel an itching has started a while ago. the urge is pushing us again ...

From 22-24 feb 08 you will have the chance to play some highly competitive tourneys with the top players from all over the worlds. But you will also find many fun events with scenarios and dreamcards. Too lazy to build a deck? Then sealed deck is your choice. and if you started to play just a while ago, there is no better chance to improve your MECCG skills.
Finally, you won´t find a better opportunity for trading cards.

Have a look at the homepage www.lureofmeccg.org for more informations.

if still needed, you may whet your appetite by reading all the reports (including lots of photos) on past events.

but be careful: once you are lured, you will find it hard NOT to go there again the year after and after and after ...
you have been warned!

Hope to see you at the castle!

Wolfgang

DCCD & GODC at the LURE 08

Post by Vastor Peredhil » Fri Jan 18, 2008 12:11 pm

Hi all,

note that for the DCCD (which is held on Sat. after 20.00) there is a player maximum of 16 with 6-9 sets already taken, so please email me if you wish to participate

for the GODC (friday afternoon) there is of cource no participent restriction for the number of players, but an even number would be nice (so an email would be nice)

also we loved to get deck-lists so that we actually know which dreamcards get some playing and which don't

it is here that experianced players in dreamcards can show of their skill

people missing key cards for the decks which they could find the know place please also get into contact with me

maybe we could even play another round after 20.00 with drinking game rules or something alike, if the participants do not wish to play other events (such as Drinking Game or DRagon hunt or other scenarios)

I would still like all interested players to email me

also please try to be familar with rules and the map we are using, as experience shows that this takes the longest for all to get used to

Now that Lure VIII is past I would like to send a  big "thank you" to Wolfgang and all the others involved in the organisation!! Once again I've had a great time at the castle and enjoyed both playing and meeting "old" friends. Fantastic!

For the first time I also experienced Nicolai's numerous dream deck ideas by taking part in the challenge deck tournament. I was quite amazed by the many ideas he converted into new cards, themes and expansions!

Absolutely! This was my first time and it was really good. And Wolfgang did a hell of a job... just amazing :)

Yes it was really nice, and we can hardly give enough credits to Wolfgang, the one true host in middle earth. The games (and the results   ), the people, the ambiance, the castle (the weather!), everything...really great.

Except, I 'lost' part of my sitedeck on Sunday.
So if someone notices someone suddenly has an additional Carn Dum/Dol Guldur (both Dutch), Iron-Deeps, Isles of the Dead, The Stones/Stone-circle and Dunharrow on his tradelist, give me a pm. If that someone finds there's accidentally a bunch of extra/duplicate cards in his sidedeck that weren't there before (can always happen), pm me as well. If someone want to redeem himself, pm me and say 3 Holy Maries! If I get my cards back, I might give you some other rare in return if there's something that really interests you (you can't be interested in those sites after all). Most of all I hate going through the trouble of getting those sites again (and the fixed ones etc.)

cheers!
