Yes, it is true! Participate to any officially ranked Gccg-tournament
and your chances to win increases. Each tournament specifically
stating that it is a part of the The Africa Lottery, gives you lottery
tickets. Events includes championships and nations cup for example in
2008 and 2009. After each event, there will be a qualifier lottery,
where 5 tickets are selected for the final lottery held in late 2009
or early 2010. The winner of the final lottery will get paid flying
tickets from and to his/her country to South Africa and accomodation
and food for 2 weeks. The trip will be organized during the soccer
world cup 2010 and exact dates are announced later.
Rules:
1. I have ultimate power to change these rules if there is a need or
even cancel it, if some unseen force majeure event occurs.
2. Tickets to the qualifier lottery are awarded as the following:
1 ticket for each game played if you are not disqualified by the
Judge.
1 ticket for each game won normally without Judge disqualifying
your opponent.
1 ticket for each bye.
4 tickets for winning the tournament. In a team event, tickets
are given to all team members.
2 tickets for the second position of the tournament. In a team
event, tickets are given to all team members.
3. Qualifying lottery is held after each event. It is organized on the
Gccg-table and cards presenting lottery tickets are shuffled to the
deck. Players can choose their own "lucky card" to present their
tickets if they choose so. Then tickets are eliminated (drawn from
the deck) one by one until 5 tickets remains. These tickets are
moved to the final lottery pool.
4. In the final lottery all qualified tickets are shuffled to the deck
simlarly to the qualifying lottery. All but 3 tickets are
eliminated. Then the winner, the second and the third is
determined. The second and the third positions takes over (in that
order) the trip, if the winner is not able to travel on required
dates.
