[hazards; vs. hero] Corruption Deck

Post by Thrain II » Tue Jun 28, 2005 9:14 am

I was trying to work out a nice corruption deck against heroes... :D

Ren the Unclean
Mouth of Sauron
Cave-Worm
Rain-Drake
Rain-Drake
Assassin
Assassin
Assassin
Cave-Drake
Cave-Drake
Ambusher
Ambusher
Cosairs of Umbar
Traidor
Lure of Power
The Burden of Time
Lure of the Senses
Lure of the Senses
Lure of the Senses
Lure of Expedience
Lure of Expedience
Lure of Expedience
Lure of Nature
Lure of Nature
Alone and Unadvised
The Balance of Things
Greed
Greed
An Unexpected Outpost
An Unexpected Outpost
Twilight
Twilight

It is pity that I already have 17 non-corruption cards with my 12 creatures ( 13 cards) and 2x Outpost + 2x Twilight. I chose creatures which are easy to play to avoid any combos here. Any ideas how to improve the deck?

Itangast at home and Scorba at home are nice in a corruption-deck. I would remove 1 ambusher and 1 Weariness of heart to make room for them. Also I would change the other WoH for a lure of senses.

Corruption Deck

Hmm, I was not sure whether to include these cards or not because they effect my own characters too. I rather prefere hazards which only effect my opponent...

I was not sure about Weariness of Heart: Do I need that card to force my opponent making some corruption checks or should I better take more CP cards to my deck (i.e. Lure of Senses + Lure of Nature) and use Ren for the tests?

There's also the card Echo of the Song, which is similar to Weariness of the Heart, but its other use can be extremely effective against certain FW decks.

I decided to take Weariness of Heart off the deck. It seems better to spam my opponent with corruption cards.

Consider Corpse-Candles; they force everybody to make a corruption check and are fairly easily keyable.

^ I agree. Corpse-Candles are good if you don't mind giving a free MP. I would also reccomend putting in Dragon-Sickness (Playable on a character bearing a major or greater item. Character makes a corruption check modified by -1) I love this card!

Corpse-Candles? Hmm. Free MP for my opponent but the chance to corrupt his characters. I am not sure if it is worth to give these MP. I have to corrupt at least one character to make it worth the effort...
