[hero; resources] Rebuild Worthyhills

Post by Strider » Thu Apr 01, 2004 11:20 pm

Let's see if I can remember the most of this:

Rebuil the Town x3
Mallorn
Earth of Galadriel's Orchard
Hobbits
Mistress Lobelia
Dreams of Lore x3
Noble Steed x3
Rangers of The North
Tom Bombadil
Forewarned is Forearmed x3
(and of course some smoke rings and marvels told)
------------------------------------
mabye some more info. site only cards and/or a major item or 2
Basicially, you go to the WorthyHills and play RtT to make no automatic attack, then you 'shuttle' back and forth to Rivendell with sages and scouts (to untap the site) And for protection, TomB comes in handy. For some more points, go to Lorien and pick up the Earth of G's Orchard, make Bag End into a Haven and play out the 2 factions.
Good characters would be Kili (for the scout) Annalena (scout/sage) Halbarad/Ioreth (sages) and some grunts to protect them. Oh, and Wizard of choice would be either Radagast to rush, or Alatar to help out in a scrap.
Any suggestions on how to improve the deck?

Be sure to put in Save from the Shadow, so you aren't stuck with tapped characters a whole turn after you played Dreams of Lore.

Good point, I will have to get my hands on it. And welcome to the forums!

Also you could add Strider to your characters, his ability to take resources from the discard pile fits this deck!

For a start you need noble hounds not noble steeds - you can't play the steeds in Cardolan :(

Add Petty Dwarves and Woses of the Eryn Vorn to the deck, as you can play them at the Worthy Hills.

Other info cards you could consider using:
Dragon Lore
Map to Mithril
When I know Anything
When you know more

Also you might want to use Barrow Downs for an item (Durin's Axe with a Dwarf Bearer would be good).

Why are you shuffling from Worthy Hills to Rivendell to 'untap it'?
If you move away from a tapped hills, it's gone! All you need to do to untap is enter the site and tap a scout and a sage (as on the card).

If you're squatting at the Worth Hills, you might want to consider hiding - to avoid attacks.

I've played a similar deck as Fallen Saruman - his Man of Skill stage card gives 2 Mps for each info card :)

That was a typo. My mistake.

Good idea. :merry:

I try not to go to The Mines in this deck. Don't want to face a 'certain drake'.

That is one of the cards I forgot to mention. (Durin's Axe)

My mistake again. I meant that I shuttle back and forth to Rivendell to store things, ect. [and] untap...

Hmm, have to try that sometime. I might try Fallen Pallando around Rivendell more often as well. [Hobbits/Hillmen] If it wasn't for the errata on the 'Towers' he would be invincible :gollum:

Thanks for the help guys.

I didn't mean you should include that info card to actually use it - just it's another info card you can play at the Worthy Hills for MPs, unlike Dreams of Lore you don't have to store it for the points, nor does it keep the character tapped.

I see. Intesting. And I just realized something. You don't have to store Dreams of Lore, either (of course, you can't untap your char.) Thanks.

I'm making a deck right now on this principle. Let's see what I have ...

3x Noble Hounds
2x Beasts of the wood
3x Dreams of Lore
2x Maps to Mithril
Durin's Axe
Goldberry
3x A Friend or Three
3x A Short Rest
3x Smoke Rings
2x Marvel's told
2x Rebuild the Town
2x Safe from the Shadow
3x Concealment

Radagast x2, Gandalf as backup
Starting company : Ghan-Buri-Ghan with Horn of Anor, Annalena with Elven Cloak, Balin, Kili, Aranmir
Other characters : Wacho, Arwen, Fili, Gloin

Sideboard
Woses of Eryn Voryn
Petty-Dwarves
Anduril, Narsil & Reforging

Cool. I'm sure you have your reasons, but you might want to swap Goldberry for Tom Bombadil as he can cancel more, and is more MP's and powerful.

But Tom can't reach Rhudaur, can he?

I'd make two companies (both composed of a ranger, a scout, a sage and a scout/sage), both moving from Cardolan to Rhudaur and back & forth, with 2 small detours to Barrow-downs & Old Forest.

Sure he can!

Also, with all that info and the need to tap a sage and scout to untap the worthy hills, you might want to include And Forth He Hastened to get things moving along more quickly.

My 2 cents,

MRA

Okay, I just remembered why I am so confused .... my latest few decks that used Tombo also used Lobelia - and she can't go to Rivendell.

Okay, then it is Tom Bombadil all the way :)

Hi,

You could use Strider as a character, his special ability is quite useful. Also might be worth dropping in Rangers of the North as it's a 3MP faction in the general area.
