Old NetMECCG News
- 01/19/99 : Some people have reported a problem with NetMECCG
v1.4. It seems that a "List Index out of Bounds" can occur when
NetMECCG is receiving large amounts of data---for example, at the start
a new game or when your opponent exhausts their Play Deck. I think that
this is particulary problematic for slow computers and/or slow network
connections, as many people never experience the problem. I'm tracking
it down, and I have some ideas on how to reduce the network traffic at
those spots to avoid similar problems in the future. I will post a
patched version of NetMECCG as soon as it's ready.
- 01/13/99 : Released NetMECCG v1.4. NetMECCG now comes with
DckMECCG and the Sealed Deck Generator in the install files---you
don't have to download them seperately. The new NetMECCG has
MEBA support, as well as some other new features. See the revision history for a
complete list of changes. I have not yet made the 16-bit version,
but I will when I get the time.
A quick word of warning: since I changed the name of
the program from NetMETW to NetMECCG (and DeckMETW to DckMECCG) with
this version, you'll have to get rid of the old files by hand if you
install the new version over top of the old version. That is, instead
of NETMETW.EXE being replaced by a new NETMETW.EXE, you'll instead have
the old NETMETW.EXE and the new NETMECCG.EXE. Just delete the old files
by hand. Some may find it easiest just to uninstall the old version
before installing the new version.
- 08/24/98 : Released a bug fix for the Sealed Deck Generator
(version 1.3.1). If fixes a bug where the generated booster cards were
not always showing the correct card type. Thanks to Tim Buege for
pointing this out.
- 02/11/98 : I've decided to change the name of NetMETW to
NetMECCG. This change will probably happen with v1.4 (which won't be
released for awhile).
- 01/04/98 : Released a bug fix for DeckMETW (version 1.3.1). If
fixes a minor bug where Fallen Wizards and Stage Resources would show up
in the Hazard list when loading a deck.
- 12/29/97 : Released NetMETW and DeckMETW v1.3. I also released
a new NetMETW add-on---a Sealed Deck Generator. The new NetMETW has
MEWH support, as well as some other new features. See the revision history for a
complete list of changes. This version will probably not have an
upgrade.
- 10/28/97 : Released NetMETW and DeckMETW v1.2. There are some
nice new features, especially for tournament play. The big change is
that the saved game now contains both players' cards, making it far more
difficult to cheat, but also making it critical that both players save
at the same time. See the revision history for a
complete list of changes. This version did have an
upgrade patch for the 32-bit version.
- 09/20/97 : Released NetMETW and DeckMETW v1.1. Updated for
MEAS, as well as some new stuff added. I've changed the way that Minion
and Resource cards with the same name are dealt with---within NetMETW
it's no longer an "LE" after the Minion card, but an "*" instead. (this
causes some problems for filenames, so card images and sounds use an "_"
instead of an "*"). See the revision history for a
complete list of changes, as well as more details on the card name
switch. Oh, and here's a batch
file to rename all of your MELE card images.
- 09/09/97 : Chad Martin has taken the time the time to convert
all of the sounds at John Coble's site to short filenames for the 16-bit
NetMETW users. They are available from
Chad's web
page [later note: Chad now is the official source of both the long
and short filename sound files].
- 07/09/97 : Released NetMETW and DeckMETW v1.0. Updated for
MELE, as well as lots of new stuff added. See the revision history for complete
details. This version will not have a patch file, only install files.
(too many changes---the update file would almost be as big as the
distribution file)
- 06/16/97 : John Coble's MECCG
page is now up and running. You'll find this week's and all future
sound packs there. [later note: Chad Martin now maintains the card sound
files, which you can find on Chad's web
page]
- 06/07/97 : Released NetMETW v0.98.
- 05/08/97 : First public release of NetMETW
